Ā MoT Backgroud / Further Information...
Details of the MoT Test:
An annual safety check (MoT Test) is required when a vehicle is first three years old and then annually thereafter. The MoT covers safety critical items of a motor vehicle including (but not limited to) lighting, steering, suspension, brakes, tyres, wheels, seatbelts and emissions. Note, this is not an exhaustive list of the full requirements of the MoT Test but is intended as an indication. The purpose of the MoT Test is to ensure the vehicle meets the minimum safety levels required by law.
The MoT Test can be carried out up to one calendar month before the renewal date. The MoT Test expires on the one year anniversary of the date of the last test.
It is illegal to drive a vehicle without a valid MoT Test Certificate unless you are driving it to an authorised MoT Testing Station with a pre-booked
appointment. Without a valid MoT Certificate your Insurance is also invalid and you will be unable to renew your Road Fund License. Recent computerisation of the MoT Testing System by VOSA means police and mobile camera units can now check remotely to see if your vehicle has a current MoT.
JAR Motorsport Ltd is proud to have been approved and is regularly inspected by VOSA (Vehicle Operator Services Agency).
MoT Viewing Area:
It is a requirement that during the MoT Test, a suitable viewing area is available to enable the MoT Test to be observed by the vehicle owner. Observing an MoT Test is not mandatory and soley the choice of the vehicle owner.
